Belgian Publication Award
Every year, two Publication Awards will be attributed to an original Belgian clinical paper.
One in the field of endocrinology and one in the field of diabetology/ metabolism.
The paper should have been published during the previous year (ending December 31st) preceding the BES meeting during which the award will be attributed.
The presenting author will be either the first author or the last and should not have passed the age of 45 years on December 31st of the year the paper was published.
The paper could be multi-centric or international, but the first author must have been working in a Belgian center when conducting the study.
Pharmaceutical companies are not allowed to apply.
The amount of the prize awarded is €2500 per award.
In case more than three papers have been submitted for one university, the board member from the respective university will preselect the three best papers for evaluation by the jury.
In case of an insufficient number of applications, each board member of a Belgian university proposes up to 3 papers (from the university or a collaborating center) for the award.
The paper(s) should be uploaded in pdf format via the website by the author no later than June 27th.
The board of the BES acts as the jury to evaluate the applications. The jury may deliberate even if not all members are present: a majority of the summoned members is sufficient. If the candidate is affiliated to a member of the Board, that member may not take part in the vote.
